Donald Leroy Tipton

U.S.M.C. Vietnam Veteran, Donald L. Tipton of Hiawassee, GA passed away at his home Saturday, October 17, 2015.  (MEDALS: National Defense Service; Vietnam Service; PUC; Good Conduct; Combat Action Ribbon; Vietnam Campaign; and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry).

He was proceeded in death by his parents William Roy Tipton, Lois Mason Tipton, Christine Underwood Tipton (step-mother) and sister Mary Kathleen Tipton.

He is survived by daughter Heather Tipton Sullivan (Michael), Heather's mother Brenda Cearley, their grandchildren Alexandra, Michael, Payne and Lexi, Siblings: Curt Tipton (Nancy), Christine Horne (Robert), Paulette Waldrop (John), Deborah Tipton Castillio (Russell), Lee Russell (Jim), LuBeth Tipton, Ed Tipton (Joy), Alton Tipton (Nancy), Joseph Tipton (Jaime), Lynn Clampitt (Jay), several nieces, nephews and by his beloved pets Harley and Tyler.

A private Military Funeral was held for the family & close friends October 22, 2015, Sugar Creek Baptist Cemetery in Blue Ridge GA at 1pm followed by a Memorial Service at his local VFW Post 7807, Hiawassee, GA.
