Donald Wayne Snider, 73, husband of Charlene Snider of McCormick, SC went home to be with his Savior on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Chatuge Regional Hospital, Hiawassee, GA.
Don retired from BASF in 2010 and with his wife began adventures, marking items off their “bucket list. ”While living life in their motor home, they traveled to 37 states and Canada spending time at every National Park along the way. He especially loved the Rocky Mountains and photographed many beautiful sites there to share with his family. His favorite quote was by John Muir, “The mountains are calling and I must go.” Along with the adventures and photography, Don loved hiking, tennis, fishing, boating, and most of all, he loved his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted, kind, adventurous husband, dad, and papaw.
In addition to his wife Charlene, Don is survived by five children: Dr. J. Blake Snider (Kristy) of Clemson, SC, Donette Moore (Daniel) of Cordova, TN, Kelley Lagana (Chris) of Summerville, SC, Jenny Crooks (Kevin) of Seneca, SC and Billy Gibson (Nikki) of Walhalla, SC.
Ten (much loved) grandchildren: Nate Snider, Brennan Snider, LCpl Samuel Moore (USMC), Luke Moore, Amber Lagana, Andrew Lagana, Carson Crooks, Emiley Kelley, Kennedy Gibson, Reagan Gibson, and one great-grandchild Rowan Moss.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Macon William and Jewel Estell Davis Snider of Anniston, Alabama, two sisters, Iva Lee Morgan and Ruby Snider Earwood, and brother, Ronnie Snider.
A celebration of his well-lived life will be held at a later date.
