Donald J. “Don” Joyner, 82, of Hayesville, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
Born on August 7, 1943, in Gulfport, Mississippi, Don proudly served his country in the United States Navy, carrying forward the values of honor and duty throughout his life. After his military service, he enjoyed a long and respected career as a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 903. Known for his skill, integrity, and storytelling, Don left a lasting impression on his colleagues and friends alike.
Don is survived by his wife, Barbara Joyner; his children, Gina, Donna, and Victoria; his grandchildren, Jessica, Tiffany, Alex, AJ, Justin, Kristen, Nathan, Joshua, Sarah, and Faith; and his great-grandchildren, Leighton, Xavier, Ezriann, and Olivia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Walter Joyner; his siblings, Elaine, Beverly, Bobbie, and Buddy; and is survived by his sister, Tuttie.
A Celebration of Life will be held at his daughter Gina’s home, 595 Dyer Cove Road, Hayesville, on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
