Mr. Clyde Ales Lawrence, age 74, of Young Harris, Georgia passed away February 05, 2022. Clyde was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Thomas and Betty Sue (Benefield) in Senath, Missouri on November 03, 1947. He was a man of strong faith, a devoted husband and an exceptional father. He loved being a "granddaddy" to his three granddaughters. He was married to his bride Clarissa (Westmoreland) for forty-three years. Clyde loved to joke around and make people laugh, his tall stature and broad shoulders often made him seem like a big bear but people quickly figured out he was a big teddy bear.
Clyde was preceded in death by his above mentioned parents and his sister, Earlene Duffel.
He leaves behind his wife, Clarissa Lawrence; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Jonathan and Melanie Lawrence; brother and sister-in-law, James and Rosemary Lawrence; and granddaughters, Darby, Gemma and Tatum Lawrence. Clyde also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation: Saturday, February 12. 2022 at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home 12:00-2:00PM.
