Carol Gulick Chandler, age 79 of Young Harris, Georgia passed away due to a long fight with Alzheimer's disease on March 13, 2026. She was born March 30, 1947 in San Diego, California. She was a devoted wife,mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
She Graduated from Edgewater High School Orlando, Florida in 1965 and went on to graduate from Brenau University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She was a member of American Association of Critical Care Nurses and worked as a cardiac nurse for 43 years; 22 of those years at Florida Heart Institute Orlando Florida. She also had a Certified Master Naturalist with University of Georgia, She was married in 1994 to Larry Chandler in Dahlonega, Georgia.
Carol enjoyed gardening, raising her dogs and wrote many gardening articles for local newspapers and attained Appalachian Native Botanical Sanctuary certification. Carol attended McConnell Memorial Baptist Church and was a member of Searcher's Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Chandler; sister, Denise Gulick Addair; daughter, Michelle Sancho Marlatt (Jeff); sons, Ryan Sancho (Jennifer), Matthew Pfeifle (Kimmy);grandchildren, Isabella Marlatt, Trevor Marlatt, Josiah Sancho, Ashlynn Sancho, Isaiah Sancho, Lily Sancho, Jamin Pfeifle, Catalina Pfeifle; great granddaughter, Adelynn.
A celebration of life will be held at McConnell Memorial Baptist Church in Hiawassee, Georgia at a later date.
Banister-Cooper is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Chandler.
