Bobbie Jean Nicholson

Bobbie Jean Nicholson, age 76, of Doraville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016 following a brief illness. She was born on January 29,1940 to the late Harlie and Ethel (Ferguson) Cheeks in Young Harris, Georgia. Bobbie was preceded in death by her brother, Cecil Cheeks and her sister, Margie Oaks. She is survived by her daughter, Kim Nicholson of Doraville, Georgia; brother, Benny Cheeks of Cornelia, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Ray Potts of Blairsville, Georgia; caretaker, Margie Lewis; a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Bobbie was a member of North Peachtree Baptist Church. The family received friends at Banister Funeral Home on Monday, February 01, 2016 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. Services were held on Tuesday, February 02, 2016 at 12:00 PM from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home with the Reverend Ray Potts officiating. Music was provided by Lavata Cheeks. Interment followed at the Enotah Baptist Church Cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Georgia in charge of arrangements.
