Billie Lynn McConnell, age 65, of Hiawassee, Georgia, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy marked by resilience, creativity, and deep compassion. She was born on November 12, 1959, in Moline, Illinois, to the late Willis Paul “Bill” McConnell and Barbara Nell (Burch) McConnell.
Ms. McConnell was known for her skilled craftsmanship. Gifted with a natural ability to fix, build, and create, she was often referred to as a “Jill of all trades.” Beyond her technical abilities, Billie was also musically inclined, artistically talented, and possessed a bright, outgoing spirit. Her love of music, especially playing the piano, brought joy to those around her. She had a sharp wit and a contagious sense of humor that could light up any room—always ready with a clever joke or playful remark that made people laugh and feel at ease. But above all, it was her loving heart that she will be most remembered for.
Billie was devoted to her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Georgiana Palmer and Nicholas Shook, along with his fiancée, Sarah LeVan. She also leaves behind her brother, Terry and Sheri McConnell; sisters, Diana and Gary Young, and Mary Burch; and brother-in-law, Dan Duvall.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Duvall; her daughter, Claudia McConnell; and her brother-in-law, Wayne Burch.
Billie will be deeply missed.
