Betty Lou Jones

Mrs. Betty Lou Jones, age 73 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at
Chatuge Regional Nursing Home. She was born to the late Lewellen and Ethel (Moody) Sheppard on June 8, 1941 in Lewisburg, WV. She is survived by her husband, Max Jones of Hiawassee, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Metzi and Donald Brown of Hiawassee, GA, Tracy McKinney of Kirksville, KY. Catrina Bishop of Kingsport, TN, Susan and Carl Rieder of Smyrna, TN, Lisa Morris of Nashville, TN, and JoAnn Freeman of Florida; son, Chad Jones of Hiawassee, GA; brother, George Sheppard of Lewisburg WV; sisters and brothers-in-law, Eva Persinger of Davie, FL, Floretta and Junior Allen of Coldcamp, ME and Phyllis Overton of Davie, FL; grandchildren, Ashley, Amber, Amanda, David, Jessica, Juliann, Samantha, Sara, Kelli, Adam, Carl, Taylor, Alex, Junior, Jonathan, Kylie, Mason, Ashley and Amber; a number of nieces, nephews also survive. Betty was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Sheppard and sisters-in-law, Rita Sheppard and Ruby Sheppard. She was a loving mother, grandmother and an avid bingo player. Funeral services were held at Banister Funeral Home chapel on Thursday January 8, 2015 at 11:00 AM.  The family received friends Wednesday, January 9, 2015 from 6-8 P.M. at Banister Funeral Home. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Georgia in charge of arrangements.
