Betty Lou Earley Clontz, , passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Brasstown Manor Retirement Community in Hiawassee, Georgia. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late William Calvin and Mary Lucinda Hall Earley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Ayward M. Clontz, who passed away in 2019, sisters, Hilda Pressley and Wilcie Reed, and brother, Wade Earley. Betty Lou worked for the Haywood County School System for 11 years. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Canton. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She is survived by a daughter, Joy Brown and her husband, Fred, of Hiawassee, Georgia; and 2 grandsons, Joshua Brown and his wife Laura of Winston-Salem, NC and Brandon Brown and his wife Megan of Bluffton, SC; 4 great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Myles, Norah and Tucker; a sister, Audrey Baxter of Asheville, NC and numerous nieces and nephews. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved working in her flower beds, and trips to Lake Chatuge with her family where she water skied until she was 72 years old.

The family would love to thank the staff of Brasstown Manor Retirement Community for the care and compassion they showed to Betty Lou. At Betty Lou’s request no services will be held.
