Beatrice Sanders Kimsey

Beatrice Kimsey, age 81, of Hiawassee, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025. She was born on August 27, 1944, to the late Clifton and Maude (Arrowood) Sanders. Beatrice shared a loving marriage of 60 years with her late husband and the love of her life, Bruce Kimsey. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Hayesville NC. She worked for several years at Carolina Dress before continuing her career at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home, where she served for approximately 10 years. Beatrice later retired to devote her time and energy to what mattered most to her—nurturing and caring for her grandchildren. Family was the center of Beatrice’s life. She was deeply devoted to her loved ones. Her life was centered on her family, and she was a constant source of love, encouragement, and pride for her grandchildren. Beatrice faithfully kept up with the Atlanta Braves baseball team, a pastime that brought her great joy. Beatrice was also known for her talents in the kitchen, quilting, her green thumb, and her love of gardening.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bruce Kimsey; her son, Marty Kimsey; her brother, Haynes Sanders; her sisters, Woodie Lee Dale, Montree Sanders, Hope Cowart, and Lois Burrell. She is survived by her sister, Gretchel Rogers; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Mark Shook; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Nancy Kimsey; step daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Rayford Garner; her grandchildren, Lauren and Jeremy Kirby, Sophia and Conner Shields, Isaiah and Reice Shook, Erik and Madison, Austin Garner, and Heather Kimsey; her great-grandchildren, Olivia Kirby, Ethan Freeman, Lily Garner, Claire Kimsey, Tate Kimsey, Bryleigh Nelson, and Blayne Mullins. Beatrice was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
