Barbara Marie McClure

Barbara "Nana B" Marie McClure age 72, of Blairsville Georgia, formerly of Gainesville Georgia, passed peacefully on Thursday, January 14, 2016 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.  Barbara was born in Gainesville, GA, to the late Henry and Ruth (Powers) Burgess. She was known for her magnanimous smile, laughter and compassion for every living thing, especially animals.  

Barbara is preceded in death by her baby Sherry Garrett. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-laws Michelle and Ajdin Pjanic and Paula and Mike Payne; daughter Betsy Wetzel; brother Lamar Burgess; sister Quetta Madsen, mother-in-law Ann McClure; and her grandchildren Ajla and Noah Pjanic and Preston Meggitt.

The family received friends at Banister Funeral Home Friday, January 15, 2016 6:00-8:00PM. Services were held from the chapel of Banister Funeral home on Saturday, January 17, 2016 at 11:00AM. Rev. Mike Payne officiated. Interment was at Laurel Hills Cemetery in Young Harris Georgia. Family is accepting flowers, however donations to the National Parkinson’s Foundation are also encouraged in lieu of flowers at parkinson.org or by calling 800-473-4636.
