Angela Joy Arrowood

Angela Arrowood, known affectionately as “Mimi” by her granddaughter Megan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 7, 2026. Born October 3, 1955, in Statesville, North Carolina, she spent many years in Hiawassee, the place she truly called home.

For over 35 years, Angela was a dedicated employee of Towns County Schools. She loved seeing the students come through her lunch line every day and was well-loved by the many colleagues and friends with whom she built lifelong relationships. Outside of work, Angela enjoyed line dancing, listening to Elvis (and her memorable trips to Graceland), and watching Megan play basketball for the Indians.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Teresa Moss, and her brother, Steve Moss.

Angela is survived by her son, Jeremy (Ashley); her beloved granddaughter, Megan; her sisters, Rhonda (Greg) and Terri; as well as her niece, Tia and numerous other relatives.

Per Angela’s wishes, she will be cremated. The family will host an informal visitation on January 10th, 2026 from 10-12 at Banister Cooper Funeral Home.
