Alton Neil Higgins

Alton Neil Higgins, 88, passed away on May 13, 2025, in the mountains of Hiawassee, GA. Born on May 22, 1936, in Fort Meade, FL, Alton was the son of Jim and Effie Fae Higgins.

An aerospace electrical engineer by trade, Alton continued to enjoy working with electronics well after retiring. He was a devoted husband to his wife, his “Bonnie Lass,” Irona Higgins. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the many communities built around his hobbies.

Alton is survived by his beloved wife, Irona Higgins; his children, Angela Pearl (Jason Gray) and Debby Johnson; his brother, Norman (Jeanie) Higgins; his stepdaughters, Debra Nicholson and Theresa (Cory) Hayworth; his stepson, John Biglin; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
