Alma Lorraine Hicks

Mrs. Alma Lorraine Hicks, age 91 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013 following a period of declining health. She was born to the late Clement and Christie ( Hopper) Coleman on December 16, 1921 in Hiawassee, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Hicks; infant son, Dale Hicks; brothers, Ira Coleman, and Charles Coleman and a  sister, Clarabelle Hogsed. She was married to Willard Hicks for over fifty years. She was a member of Lower Hightower Baptist Church for many years, she loved her family, gardening and she especially loved her flowers. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Anita Hicks; son, Donald Hicks; sister and brother-in-law, Katherine and Raman Bradley; granddaughters and husbands, Alissa and Justin Turner, Ashley and Justin Miller; grandsons, Adam and Dalton Hicks; four great grandchildren, Layla and Lizah Turner and Aden and Delilah Miller; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 2:00 PM from Lower Hightower Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Ledford officiating. Pallbearers were: Neal Coleman, Rex Coleman, Pat Coleman, Lynn Mauldin, Brad Wilson and Justin Turner. Honorary pallbearers: Dustin Green, Dalton Hicks and Adam Hicks. Interment was in Lower Hightower Baptist Church cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
