Mr. Charles Franklin Woolums, age 74, of Hiawassee, Georgia went home to be with his Lord on Friday, February 22, 2019. Charles was born in West Palm Beach, Florida to the late Frank and Myrtle (Johns) Woolums on February 17, 1945. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Myrtle Woolums; daughter, Lisa Taylor; and son, Richard Woolums. He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Mrs. Betty Grooms Woolums of Hiawassee, Georgia; son, Jeffrey Woolums of McDonough, Georgia; daughters and sons-in-law, Shannon and Jose Garcia of Americus, Georgia, Tammy and Terry Pickelsimer of Suches, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Beverly Penland of Cleveland, Georgia; daughter-in-law Kristin Panzarella of Cumming, Georgia; grandchildren, Josh and Lauren Woolums, Joanna, Gracie, and Quinton Garcia, Justin Taylor (Brittany Morris), Chris Woolums (Brian Feeser), Jennifer Sicairos (Govanni Sicairos), Tyler, Jenna, and Katie Penland, Jordan and Savannah Pickelsimer; great grandchildren, Jovanna, Javier and Jaydon Sicairos, Mazie Taylor; sister, Wanda Woolums of West Palm Beach, Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Robert Hall of Montezuma, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Ida Woolums of Oglethorpe, Georgia; sister, Bonnie Woolums of Oglethorpe, Georgia, a number of nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Charles was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 24, 2019 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Banister Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Banister Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Dye and Pastor Brent Penland officiating. Music will be provided by Ken and Betty Nichols. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Banister Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
